History tells us that the Osage people are known to be a very giving and generous people, I have seen this many times in our every day life and in our traditional ways.
It is important to recognize the many Osage employees included Chief Gray that donated hams and food baskets for those in need. These hams along with canned and other goods were given to families having difficulties due to unforeseen circumstances beyond their control.
Our Osage employees and Chief Gray know that some services have been disallowed by this Nation Congress effort in dismantling the operating budgets that help our people. Do to this active budget freeze, many of our families would and will suffer the consequences of their decisions.
What gladdens the heart is; Chief Gray helped with the food baskets and giving what he could to help those in dire need of hope during this Christmas season.
I know Chief Gray is concerned about all his people no matter where they are. The love he has for his Osage People is a precious gift to us all. So overwhelming it is a wonder that there are those that constantly try to discredit and reject our Chief goes so beyond good common sense.
Wishing all a wonderful New Year

We (Lu Compton,

Joyce and
PaulAllen,
Mary and
Mike Street, for the wonderful Christmas
dinner delivered by
Mike,
Michael James Street
and Horris Stabler.
This was their gift of sharing with the community in
appreciation of the many friendships developed since coming to Pawhuska.
Originally, the Allen’s and Street’s had reserved the Osage
Cultural Center for the Christmas dinner for anyone who wanted to come but, the
heavy snow kept us all home, so, they arranged to deliver as many as they could
which was about 30 homes.
They served –
Turkey and cornbread dressing with
gravy, cranberry jell, an apple and a lettuces salad(s), sour cream scallop
potatoes, sweet potatoes casserole, pumpkin pie, angle food cake.
It also included,
PaulAllen
family recipe of (yeast based) Indian fry bread.
It was all delicious!
Thank you for all the hard work in preparing this dinner,
it, was so very much appreciated by those on the receiving of your gift of
giving.

Re: Beading on Broadcloth
Dear Mr. Bighorse,
Once again, I want to thank you and those responsible for this beading on broadcloth class.
It is inspiring to know there are those that want to share their knowledge of our customs and traditions with others that hunger for knowledge and do appreciate it so much.
There was always someone available to help each student individually and answers to our questions.
I want to say a special “thank you” to Mary Bighorse, Jacque Jones, Dana Daylight, Dava Daylight, Robin Rulo, Allison Jones for their patience and help.
You have some very special people working with you.
You and your staff have made all this possible and again helped to inspired so many people.
We, the people look forward to more classes for those unable to attend these recent classes.
Thank You,
Sincerely yours,

Re: Peyote bead Class
Dear Mr. Bighorse,
I want to express my sincere thanks to you and the Osage Congress for the Peyote bead class.
Margie Williams is a great teacher, she help all individually with her patience, knowledge and understanding that some of us were novelist in this procedure of beading.
When we needed to undo and then redo a roll she was very kind and showed us how and where to begin the next roll, and in beading this is so very important.
I hope in the future that you will ask Margie to consider teaching another class with her guidance.
Thank you and the Osage Congress Cultural, Appropriations Committee and the full Congress for the making this and others classes possible with the funds for those interested and that appreciate learning our cultural ways.
